The Pont Aber is a 4 star bed and breakfast which is situated at the bottom of the Black mountain in the beautiful county of Carmarthenshire, South Wales. Its perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway or for families wishing to explore local castle ruins and other attractions.
We also offer a self contained cottage, and a camping site. Flowing through the garden we have the River Sawdde (tributary of the River Towy) with fishing rights for our guests. We are situated on the road George Borrow* took in his book Wild Wales. Apart from the wonderful walking, hiking and angling in the area there is a wealth of other activities!

Now let me tell you a little more about us! We came to Wales 15 years ago, purchasing the Pont Aber was our dream come true! We ran the Pont Aber as a country Inn up until 8 years ago, tragically the foot and mouth epidemic did not bring any tourism to our area that year, and we had no choice but to think ahead and plan what can we do to encourage more people to come visit this attractive area! We offer full home cooked breakfasts with a choice of three en-suite bedrooms each having multi-channel TVs, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, complimentary toiletries and wireless internet access for your enabled laptop (service is available in all rooms and public areas).
As i wrote above we also have a self contained cottage! The Pont-Aber Cottage apartment is a traditional stone and slate detached family sized country property for people seeking quality accommodation in peaceful picturesque surroundings. Set in the heart of the scenic Welsh countryside in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons. The area offers stunning views, plenty of fresh clean mountain air and excellent walks with direct access to all the main peaks from the doorstep!
